Since Major League Soccer's inaugural season, DC United has established a tradition of winning, both domestically and internationally. Fans have come to expect the team to be among the top teams not only in Major League Soccer but in the Americas. DC United's fans have also been very loyal to the club, particularly during the poor campaigns of 2000-2003. But through it all, United has lived up to a tradition of excellence both on and off the field founded on playing an attractive, attacking style of soccer.
